Re: Hurricane possible NW carribean next week...
What about a solution between the low to the east of Jamaica and the more broad low in the NW Caribbean?

So from point of development the low generally moved NNE until passing SFL?

If the GFS is right that system will be so large and embedded within so much moisture that it will affect with heavy rains Central America, Cuba, Hispaniola and Florida.

I keep thinking about Irene in 1999 which flooded out all of South Florida.....question us how strong will it be because this us shaping up to be one huge storm if GFS is right

Re: Hurricane possible NW carribean next week...
I know intensity is very difficult to forecast but with the recent GFS runs what are they showing as far as winds? Middle part of next week could be very difficult for the Keys and South Florida emergency managers. They will have some big decisions to make and maybe some short time to do it in.

Re: Hurricane possible NW carribean next week...
much slower run than last few... if it verifies, S FL is looking at possibly 48-60 hrs of trop storm force (and greater) winds. Crazy setup.

I think its from the monsoonal trough created from Matthew remnants which is supposed to spark another low from what I'm reading.

Which could be the reason why the system is so large?
