After trending less severe (more rain than snow) for OKC most of today, it looks like the 00z GFS is starting to trend back the other way.
It is once again showing a significant snowfall for central Oklahoma up through Missouri on Tuesday...

Yeah lol everysays .25 inch of ice is bad. I can't imagine .50 inches of ice and 1inch........

2 years ago we had 2.25 inches of Ice. No power for 5 days. Rural area's had no power for up to 2 weeks.

Yea, they had to cut down numerous trees. There was still debris on the ground around the city from it last year.

Check out this winter weather album.
The last couple of GFS runs were making me think Ice Storm when all the snow disappeared, I am glad we are officially in the wait and see what the GFS does next mode.

The cold behind this storm also continues to look VERY impressive. The 12z GFS MOS is showing high temperatures of 13F in Tulsa, 14F in Oklahoma City, and 16F in Norman on Wednesday.

12z GFS for me still showing a big Ice Storm with a few inches of snow of top of it by the time it all ends.
Pro-Mets in this area are starting to use the word "crippling" Winter Storm. The COLD air behind it will make it be days for anything thaws out.

The ECMWF has also now jumped on board for a significant snowfall across the area, with the 12z run showing QPF values in excess of 0.85" (and perhaps as much as almost 1.00") falling on OKC in a below freezing airmass. And with thicknesses falling below 530 and 850mb temperature falling below -10C, it is likely that by the end of the event, some of the snow ratios could be as high as 15:1 or 20:1, which would be pretty impressive.

I am glad that the models have finally come together with some sort of consensus. If this verifies OKC could have some nasty travel weather on Tuesday. Hope the 18z comes in with a stronger trend towards accumulating snow.

The maps below are valid 6am Tuesday morning, at which point the event should be well underway if the NAM is correct:
