Corsicana reported light snow/fog under it awhile ago with 0.75 visibility.

Guys, use the base radar function instead of composite since the air is not moist yet, it's better for depicting events like this since the air is so dry.

Yeah you can tell it's starting to moist up though in South Dallas. Precip is actually making it in here now. Somewhere in Kaufman county might be seeing some pretty nice snow right now.

Just took another look outside and we have flurries

By the way iorange55 thank you!! 4 inches got it.

It's covered the roads now. I've never seen snow stick this fast around here this light snow of course. It's coming down pretty good now though.

Cars are now covered in thin layer of ice in MOCity/Sugarland area. I'm afraid driving will be very treacherous tomorrow. Hoping there's enough snowfall to make most businesses be smart and close for Friday...

Visibility has dropped considerably here. I would not want to be driving out in this.

Yes, I posted that a second ago and made the same mistake you did. You need to look at the base radar for now.

KXII-TV met Steve LaNore with an update on his forecast, which now is 70% chance of snow and 1-3" of accumulations in the Sherman/Denison area:

"UPDATE: 9:00
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until noon Friday for all of north Texas. Our high-resolution Futurecast model run this evening has keyed in on the intensity of the mid-level low (see complete discussion below), and is generating higher snowfall totals. NCEP's NAM is also producing more snow on its newest run. The moisture supply looks to greater than seen in the earlier analysis, so snowfall may range as high as 3" with 1-2" more typical.Snow will end by Friday afternoon. Extensive ice and snow cover plus higher new snow totals forecast leads me to lower highs Saturday to around 40."

EDIT: This is where those 15:1 ratios that the NWS referred to earlier today are going to play a huge role in accumulations overnight across North Texas.

Anyone worried that since we're already seeing more ice than sleet (sleet was mostly predicted for Houston) that this may be a significant ice event for our area? I would hate to see any damage done to our beautiful live oaks...

Granbury,Cleburne,Kileen,Waco,Hillsboro,Corsicana,Hamiliton and Gatesville all officially reporting light snow.

This was for the person who said they could only find one NWS report of snow

Nothing that SouthernMet posts, is an official forecast, nor does it reflect views of STORM2K.. SouthernMet is just adding to the great discussions on STORM2K.. Refer to NWS for official forecasts.

Now getting a glaze on vehicles etc. in the W Houston area. Streets are beginning to show the moisture also. I sure don't plan on going anywhere in the morning if this continues. Occasional flurries mixing in with the steady freezing drizzle.

Still only light flurries here with no accumulation at all. It looks like this band is mostly bypassing Weatherford to the east. Even the base reflectivity radar may be misleading. The green seems to be just very light snow flurries. I would imagine the darkest green and of course the yellow is producing some accumulations.

Very nice iorange, thanks for the photos... watching the radar.. more NE movement than i thought, so it's a couple blocks over for now and I need that north movement and I'll be joining ya. Guess I'll be staying up a while again and posting updates.
