CF has entered the northwestern part of the NWS-FW forecast region and is making better southeast progress now. Moving SE about 20 MPH. Located roughly Putnam-Caddo-Bryson-Bowie-Nocona-Madill (Oklahoma). Just 40 miles from here (Weatherford) now.

I can't wait to stand outside and feel the difference as it plows through here. I'm excited.

Better have a couple good hours of awake left.

Hmmm, One concerning thing I've noticed: The GFS has Graham, TX receiving 0.15 inches of precip before midnight while NAM only has 0.01 inches....unless radar returns explode in the next 30 minutes, the NAM will win that battle. GFS maybe over doing QPF amounts !!!!!

I used to be. I'm older now, but weather gives me a ridiculous amount of adrenaline. Last Thursday night, I drank extra to make me crash. LOL. I wound up getting 3.5 hours of sleep & had to drive to work. Normal commute, 30 mins. Last week, 1 hour. Not a good recipe for success, but I made it without incident.

NAM also gives Amarillo 3-6 inches of snow. Looks like they're going to surpass that based on observers.

It also put a lot of emphasis on the northern shortwave over Kansas moving into Oklahoma. That's not happening. The southern wave is exploding.

That is not out of the question at all.

Current HRRR seems completely contrary to current trends.

I dunno...the radar already looks to be exploding south of abilene. 0.15 is probably slightly overdone for the before midnight period, but after that id feel pretty good.

Cold Front is making rapid progress now. You can see it racing southeast on the radar. Roughly from Eastland-Possum Kingdom Lake-Muenster. Looks like it will get to my place before I get to sleep.

Yep, there was already 6 inches of snow on the ground here in Amarillo according to local reports an hour ago, and it's still coming down hard. I don't know how much is on the ground now, but I can say I can't see where the feeder road on the interstate is anymore.

Looks like a straight white line across the feeder road to the main lanes of I40, which is currently closed west of the exit my hotel is at. So the snow is deep enough where you can't see the curbs at all anymore.

I think an hour not sure, but temps behind the front is falling very fast. 31 in Eastland 50 miles away in Abilene it's beginning to fall into the teens.

The temp has dropped 2 degrees at Shreveport, LA down to 38, but 43 at Longview.
Some news channel was predicting I-20 at the bottom edge of 1-2". Here is the local NWS.
