Yes, he has been great. We're listening to him on the radio. As he's reporting he's also directing a college intern working with them on answering everyone's questions on facebook. We met Skip a couple of years ago when our son's scout troop did a tour of the WCTI studios. He was great with the kids and taught them quite a bit. All the tornadoes are crazy. We just had a pretty strong squall come through, but it seems to have calmed down for a few now.
He has been doing weather at that station for almost 30 years. He has a lot of local knowlege, and he does not mind telling what he thinks is going to happen even if it flies in the face of what the NWS says. He will give you the "official" forcast, then tell you what he thinks might happen. Sometimes he is wrong, but usually he is right. He was saying this thing would probably come into Bogue banks several days ago when the models were still going east of Hatteras. You have to admire someone that does not mind sticking his neck out when he thinks he needs to.
