Ntxw wrote:Yep, there is nothing fighting the potential colder pattern (except wxman57). AO went very negative today, MJO is heading to the US coast to coast chill phases. The potential epic nor'easter is just a signal that wavelengths are tightening up over North America. As the GWO and SOI have indicated, the storms are getting bigger and high latitude blocking is taking over. Winter over? Not until February says it's over!
wxman57 wrote:Am I the only one here in this thread that hates winter? I still think it's quite possible that Houston (IAH, not Conroe or Huntsville) will see another freeze this year. Hopefully, the cold will remain to our north and east where it belongs. Quite a snow storm coming for the northeast Fri/Sat.

A ha! Knew you would come around!
Ntxw wrote:Oh Canada! Check out the cmc, not saying it's correct but how it plays out mirrors a snowstorm very close to our hearts in north Texas

Where are you seeing that (URL)? I'm looking at the Canadian (through 144hrs) and see some rain across TX next Monday night/Tue.

Oops! Left an important word out of my post -- quite possible Houston will NOT see another freeze. We're done.
I miss summer...
