Re: ATL: KAREN - Tropical Storm - Discussion
I measure 3hr movement to 331 degrees at 9 kts. Plane found 35kt winds in NW quadrant. Probably 45 maybe 50 kts max to NE currently. Plane should head there soon. Definitely weaker than this morning.

I was about to post the same thing on the pressure, don't know if it is a diurnal thing.

Re: ATL: KAREN - Tropical Storm - Discussion
There appears to be more convection trying to build around the core... mostly on the eastern half... so I don't think it is getting any worse and in fact it might be starting somewhat of a comeback atm... my opinion only..

Actually I thought it looked worse this morning. The 850 circulation had discontented and headed NE when the LLC was over land. Now at least it has a chance to build a vertically stacked system.

Full 30 frame live visible, speed up for full effect.

My opinion is it is looking better and starting to build more convection near the center, but still obviously sheared.

Agreed, I was looking at the hires and storms appear to be wrapping around the center.

Karen is looking terrible this afternoon. if anything the MLC and LLC continue to decouple further, and the shear is more evident then it was this morning. It may not even intensify beyond this, it probably peaked already this morning.
