I'm shocked this thread hasn't been more active the past week. Hoping this snowy weather trend continues

How far in the deep south are you talking here? Maps? Prediction estimates?

Re: Deep South Winterwx Discussion
this TX storm looks to be real. It's either a foot of snow, a couple inches of sleet, or half an inch of freezing rain.
Should we start a thread in TX winter discussion?

The Texas threads are divided into 3 month seasons. There is a fall thread going on that is all about the potential storm right now. We do have a winter thread going but that won't likely get productive posts until December comes around for DJF
Here is the fall thread

Interesting, the low in the western Gulf appears pretty impressive this morning, seeing 35kt winds in the cold air from some of the buoys off the southern TX Coast!

I thought so at first but evidently not. The low is expected to develop Monday in the western Gulf according to the NWS in Mobile, AL. I haven't been paying much attention to all the models.

Re: Deep South Winterwx Discussion
I've been here watching the maps...just don't post much because I'm not a meteorologist or even a knowledgable amateur...
Seems like things are getting started early this year; not sure I believe the prediction for a cold, dry winter (in AL).
Low was 23F this morning.
