Look at the surge that starts at...oh...the top of the frame between 30 and 40N and extends southwestward until it reaches Isabel's outflow then fans out to swirls on either side of the hurricane.

This appears to be the reason wht the hurricane has a little of a NW to SE smuch to it and probably helps to explain the little WSW jogs we've been seeing.

Pretty anxious situation folks. I'm not comparing Claudette to this hurricane but I remember they kept expecting Claudette to make that turn. The next thing you know she was sitting right of the coast of Galveston (which paid a price) until she finally took a sharp turn West. We kept waiting and waiting and waiting..........hmmmmmmm
