Re: ATL: ARTHUR - Hurricane - Discussion
71 knots is the highest SFMR I've seen in the SE quad. AF301 is heading back to NE quad right now and NOAA has a bird in the sky now heading into the SW quad from Florida. We should have plenty of data to watch as Arthur intensifies.

That bit of dry air nearly cleared out... convection firing again on the NE eyewall

But only 46-48 knots @ surface

Looks to my untrained eye's he ingested some dry air. Most likely slowed the intensification process momentarily. Also looks like Arthur has pretty much spit it all out of his core relatively quickly. Wouldn't be surprised to see him start intensifying relatively quickly again.
Just my opinion.

The first official raindrops from Arthur have reached the Greenville, NC area. Pressure has dropped 1 mb to 1020.

looks like it wobbled a little to the left the last hour... the wobbles are quite important at this stage.
eyewall funky from that dry air in there.. but still is contracting some.

Dry air is mostly mixed out in the E side of the system. Definitely a clear intensifying trend now. Nice little counter-clockwise wiggle in the visible as Arthur that marks a realignment of its circulation at all levels...

yeah the dry air making the inner core a little disrupted. but wont be for long very deep convection firing on the ne side.

That's similar to a Haiku (Japanese poem) in its structure and poignancy.
