3 systems in the same year for Florida..?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

3 systems in the same year for Florida..?

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Sat Sep 20, 2003 4:34 pm

If Juan or Kate or any other storm were to come this way this year.. it would be the 3rd time this season Florida has been directly impacted by a storm...

Erika came this way... {she actually wasn't Erika when she came through Florida}

pathetic little Henri came this way... at least he weakened a little otherwise some parts of the state might still be under water..

and we may get a 3rd storm before this year is out.. the question is.. How big will it be when and if it arrives...

Those didn't even rate a 1 on the richter scale never mind the Saffir-Simpson scale. But we're going to have trouble here yet, probably on the west coast. I feel it in my bones.

If a hurricane strikes Florida, we'll get a lot of rain here in Savannah Beach, and maybe strong winds too.

I would get strong winds from a hurricane that makes landfall on either side of Florida, so along the beach, hurricane force winds are just about impossible to avoid.

GOM

Rainband,

I wouldn't worry about the Gulf this coming week. Looks more like a frontal wave toward mid week - just a rain producer. I'd watch out toward the first or second week of October for a Cat 3/4 coming out of the Caribbean from the SW.. :wink:
