The eye is indeed clearing out nicely.

YES! THIS is the way storms SHOULD look!

And to think, I was just complaining the other day about them NOT having "classic looks"!!

The winds have to catch up to the pressure, ill expect wind bumps in the next few hours. Not good.

A good 16 hrs, according to the GFS.

Closer to 20 hrs according to the Euro.

Based on radar, I'd say the outer eye is contracting now. Hopefully recon will confirm soon.

Landfall expected late tonight or early tomorrow. By the looks of things, the ERC will be completed before then. Radar and satellite show that the inner eyewall is degrading rapidly and the outer eyewall is beginning to take over which is why we are beginning to see the eye clear out and become more visible.

From the looks on satellite, this is probably a major now. little doubt will make a run at Cat 4 before landfall

If you were without recon, in other basins raw T6's is pretty scary

One thing I see a lot of people missing. These usually pass over and move on in a day or so. This one looks like it might sit and spin and grind and move back over some areas in a fairly limited area of movement for a couple of days before it moves on. It's going to be like being caught in a blender or meat grinder for an extended period.

Out of the Hurricanes I have been through from Camille to Katrina with Georges being a nighttime storm was by far the scariest the house literally shook from either tornadoes or some downdrafts of exceptional speeds. The only bright spot of that storm was when we got caught in the eye and I was so relieved the storm stalled and died.it was not good for those on the fringe it beat them. The people in TX are not going to be that fortunate with Harvey moving at 10mph it's going to meander about and is stronger than Georges.I sent my family out for Katrina with paperwork to Destin to stay w/family and she handle the insurance from there. The dog and I stayed behind had generator,50gallons of fuel and food(36ft elevation) 3 weeks no water or power.Be ready for that experience if you stay behind by all means get the rest of the family out it was one of the toughest experiences I had to go through but it also teaches you .Good luck people God Bless.

yeah that outer eyewal is quite a bit stronger per recon. wont be too much longer until the inner fades away.
