GFS has 4 inches of liquid between days 4 to 10 in Tyler. That's after the 3 inches tomorrow.

Euro not too exciting through Christmas... snow looks to stay in Oklahoma on the front Christmas Eve, temperatures steady in the mid 30s all day.
and 40s Christmas Day like the GFS
lol Euro near 50 the day after Christmas. These models are still clueless.

Deviating from the model reading norm on this thread recently, there was quite a big bit of fog this morning in the upper DFW area and it's looking as if it's back for tonight. Interesting at how much condensation is in the air, hopefully it'll stay come Christmas time and some cold.

I drove from DFW to San Antonio today and the ENTIRE way was foggy. Anywhere From 1/2 mile visibility to zero around Austin. I've never seen the state so engulfed in fog for so long. And it's still here.

Think it’s worth noting that 06z NAM shows 35 degrees and rain at hour 84 in DFW...

Temperatures across the Pole in Siberia are well above normal. No extreme cold there, either. Cross-Polar flow won't do it.

After some heavy fog, rolling thunder and storms have popped up over DFW. Moderate rain and lightning underneath

Extremely foggy again this morning, almost zero visibility. I wonder if there is any old wives tale that corresponds fog with upcoming winter weather?

Re: Texas Winter 2017-2018
Looking at the current temperatures across our source Regions of the NW Territories and Yukon in Canada, I am finally seeing some -20C to near -40C temperatures in some locations. Now let's see if some of that cold Canadian Air can head South in the days ahead. Meanwhile, careful when out and about today into this evening. Rounds of rain, some possibly heavy with thunderstorms this afternoon into evening look likely.
Get out and enjoy tomorrow if you can. That will likely be the best weather day we see in some time...

If true, that would put snow and ice right at the 29th. If I remember correctly, some of the models were showing frozen precip on that day. Some of the folklore regarding weather is pretty out there but I do believe in some of it, if not for the current year but signs being shown now for the next winter.

wxman is doing his best to overcome the -EPO that's coming. -EPO can't be stopped! It will get cold but extreme cold is always rare by definition so it's generally safe to bet against it a few days in advance. I would rather not see pipes bursting.

We also had a few super Foggy August mornings which to me seems pretty uncommon and also being rare with all the rain we received.
