Seems par for the course for us this winter. Everything significant has been to our south or to the east. There is still time this winter though.

Yes. I like to use wundermap to see the temp from all the PWS’s online. Temps are hovering in that range.

Edit: Btw the NWS radar is back online.

Both Denton and McKinney are now reporting 30 as the cold air is really starting to overperform vs. 18z guidance. 30 and below is when things could start to get serious, esp. if the 30 line pushes deeper into the northern burbs.

Yes and in Irving also. Storms to the north and south. The sidewalks and rooftops are drying out. Well, I am jealous of folks getting to see heavy rain and lightning. :D

Mesoscale Discussion 0052
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0537 PM CST Tue Feb 06 2018

Areas affected...Portions of North Texas and southern Oklahoma

Concerning...Winter mixed precipitation

Valid 062337Z - 070330Z

SUMMARY...Pockets of freezing rain and sleet/small hail will move
northeast from areas just north of DFW to southern Oklahoma over the
next several hours. Freezing rain rates of a few hundredths of an
inch per hour are possible.

DISCUSSION...Recent KFWS (Ft Worth WSR-88D) data show a relatively
quick blossoming of heavier convective cores this evening, generally
centered over Denton County. Lightning has been observed recently as
well. Warm-air advection around 850-700mb and related isentropic
ascent are likely encouraging this evolution, and forecast soundings
depict elevated buoyancy favorable for continued convective growth.
Meanwhile, surface wet-bulb temperatures north of the Metroplex are
near/below freezing. In turn, these convective elements will be
capable of brief bursts of freezing rain, occasionally mixing with
sleet and even small hail (considering steep 700-500mb lapse rates),
over the next several hours. Recent mPing and dual-polarization
(primarily ZDR) data suggest a mixture of freezing rain and small
hail/sleet is likely occurring in heavier cores, and freezing rain
rates of a few hundredths of an inch per hour will be possible. This
activity is expected to lift northeast towards southeastern Oklahoma
through mid evening.

Still 36 here according to my phone. Don't really think much will happen this far south. Next weekend is looking interesting.
Edit: Just saw a flash of lightning. Maybe Irving can get a quick thundershower later.

I was outside watching that while ago. There was sleet and freezing rain mixed in, but the heavy rain was the biggest feature in the last burst a couple of minutes ago. The temp is still 30 on my weather station and frisco fire station #2 at the corner of ohio and warren. Dewpoint is at 30 right now.

Down to 32 in north Fort Worth. Last round of rain actually accelerated the temp drop.

It is colder than I expected this evening in areas east of DFW. 33 in Terrell and 37 in Canton. Still holding around 48 here in Lindale.

Rain chances appear to be diminishing and pushing more towards the SE for the next couple weeks per the last few runs of the GFS.

Just a perfect microcosm of the NorTex winter. Thunder, rain, and 32 degrees.
