Curse of the winter wx advisory lol
It is why when I read posts about next weekend I chuckle...
I have never lived anywhere like this, where winter weather events literally disappear / dissipate right at the moment they are supposed to happen.
Crazy.
If we could get just one solid winter weather event here in DFW, it all sure would be easier to take!!!
It is life living in the most southern tier of states in the US. Easier to see snow moving up north.

Well, yikes. If this one fails, nobody in DFW will pay attention to winter weather advisories again. lol

It was never going to be a widespread event. As mentioned this morning you are talking a small band covering 1-2 counties wide SW to NE. Some folks may get, others angry

It’s worth noting that fwd is not the only office that has issued a wwa for this event. Contrary to the other events okc, Tulsa and San Angelo are on board which are the only nws offices that affect us given the trajectory of the storm. As ntxw mentioned, it was never supposed to be a massive event but it appears this will be the best one so far for dfw. I like watching models too but we have professional weathermen for a reason.

Just think if we had 1" of snow for each WWA this winter? We would be talking about how awesome it was, such a tease.

I don't think it helps that all the setups this year have largely been moisture starved so i mean even in a best case scenario it would have been like a dusting or so in a narrow band nothing has had real snowstorm potential all winter to me

Freezing drizzle consistent now in Frisco m. Temp is at 27. This wasn’t supposed to happen tonight by most accounts. If there is enough energy for freezing drizzle to get through the dry layer then anything heavier will have no issue tonight.

Dallas has become the freezing drizzle capitol of Texas. Take what you can get.

Freezing drizzle appears to be pretty widespread. The models were all in agreement that there would ascent atop the cold air and the 00z FWD sounding shows nearly saturated lower levels. So there is just enough moisture to squeeze out freezing drizzle but the rest of the column is very dry and that is probably why the models have been cutting back on freezing rain or sleet.

Did y'all get any sun out that way this afternoon? Grandbury is up to 37 and Ft. Worth Naval is up to 36.

We did not have any sun really, but no real drizzle either. It was steady at 31-32 all afternoon though until recently after the sun went down, when it started rising. I don't know enough to explain. The dewpoint is in the mid-20s.
