That center fix had surface winds of 11kts and was right when the center seemed to relocate north and east.

Yep. They had unflagged SFMR of 40 kts on that pass. It appears to be north of them.

Looking at visible sat it looks like the center is exposed to the SW of the blob of storms. Just my opinion.

I don't think so. The 1006 was measured with 39 KT of wind at the surface. It's kind of a strange wind distribution with calmer wind at flight level.. Almost like a quasi stadium effect where you can technically be in the eye at flight level and have part of the eyewall below you.

I don't think so. The 1006 was measured with 39 KT of wind at the surface. It's kind of a strange wind distribution with calmer wind at flight level.. Almost like a quasi stadium effect where you can technically be in the eye at flight level and have part of the eyewall below you.

Or just tilted by land interaction and shear. Which is far more likely given how shredded this weak system is.

wondering if Gordon is no longer stacked, and that is the mid level going off to the north and the low level still moving NW... speculation on my part but he sure does not look good on the sat loops as he had earlier..mho
