Is there going to be any additional sleet/snow for the Austin area this afternoon or is it going to stay mainly west in the hill country?

Short term, hi res models suggest widely scattered wintry mix into late afternoon and then dying off. I think the more concentrated stuff will be in the Hill Country and to our north.

Radar shows quite a bit of light precip to your southwest (Austin). It also has a good bit of moisture heading for the D-FW area.

Clouds are starting to slowly thicken in DFW with temps still below freezing. Come on moisture!!!!!

I do hope it happens, I'd love an excuse to leave work early........driving from central Dallas to Grapevine with sleet and snow, even though it doesn't stick its bound to make PM traffic a cluster.

Sort of surprised but not really with some spots looking at an inch of mix and temps in the low 30s so bridges could be an issue in spots.

Still needs to snow at DFW to count.
