The movie ends with the ridge isn't strong enough and allows a recurve away from Florida or ridge is underestimated and storm moves across Florida/Straits anywhere south of Vero... Once recon does that "flight" to sample the high pressure ahead of the storm, we get our answer... I expect that recon @72 hours from a potential Florida landfall...

We've all seen that movie many times. I kind of agree with you, assuming it can make it to our neck of the woods intact, it's typically either a recurve possibly clipping NC, or the ridge is stronger and it's Martin county to the Keys if not the Straits. Both seem historically much more likely than, say, a WNW-traveling storm inbound to Cocoa Beach, Melbourne or St. Augustine.

It cant be the mid levels.

It is very close to the radar site.

Old center may still be to the south a bit. But convection is increasing with this one farther north.. soo relocation looks likely.

Recon finds winds shift SW by where the last fix was recorded but pressures are much higher than the last pass in this area.

It's possible the LLC was disrupted due to topography of St. Lucia, given the tiny core and struggle to maintain a vigorous mid-level circulation. Looks like the past few radar frames it has jumped a bit north:

Yeah, going to wait for next pass. Should be enough time for whatever is taking place to work itself out.

I thought something looked off. Yesterday evening it looked like the center was going right over Barbados and now this morning it looked like it jumped
much further north. This must be a reformation.

TD 6 has become really annoying.

Td6 is creating a weakness in the ridge that is allowing Dorian to bypass most of Hispaniola .

Surface obs don't support SFMR winds. Keep an eye on Dominica, the island with the very light SW wind to the north. It looks like the highest SFMR winds may pass over the island soon.

indirectly by td6. to 6 gets decoupled and part of it heads sw towards cuba, turning dorian up and around hispaniola running up eastern bahamas and then into fl. per NDG earlier post on models page and i saw the graphic that’s exactly what it shows.

Fringe fingering of cirrus indicative of upper level anticyclone overhead - looks like overall convective mass getting larger too. May be on its way to strengthening again.

Seems like it is consistency moving north of the forecast track... I wonder if it will cross Puerto Rico and how that will affect it.
