TWC- VERY WELL DEFINED LOW....

#1 Postby Anonymous » Wed Oct 22, 2003 8:58 pm

The weather Channel's Dr. Steve Lyons just said the low is very well organized, and is just lacking deep thunderstorms. He said they tend to stay down in the SW Caribbean for a while and then conditions become favorable. Could we see Odette?

Certainly Possible

Most of the models are showing a developing low sitting in the same area THROUGH the period. This isn't the type of system you want to mess around with. Lets just wait and see if it develops first. We're updating daily again btw.

I don't have my links with me here (since I'm at work) but the World Meteorological Organization actually comes up with the names to include a world flavor so to speak. Representatives from the US, UK, and other parts of the world submit the names and a final decision come from the WMO (if my memory serves me right).

[As I mentioned before,] Tropical storm and hurricane names are English, Spanish and French names.

Odette is a French name.

If it becomes Odette, and Odette is a French name, then surely she will not be coming anywhere near the U.S.
