That's the extrap measurement, on the last pass extrap showed 957 mb, but it still is a nice drop.

Last pass was 957.5, this pass is 952.9 so almost a 5mb drop in the extrap in one pass.

That's correct, I missed the 952.9mb reading on the report.

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Has Laura crossed those 88-90 degree waters yet? There is some massive heat intake going on right now. This is truly incredible to see. Can an expert breakdown the thermodynamics going on right now?

The Sabine pass area seems has had its share of storm struggles Lately. Audrey devastated it But then it was quiet for 50 or so years. then Rita (and Ike)and now Laura. I think harvey flooded much of the area badly too. Oddly enough, because it tucks in I’d guess, it’s has a lower strike frequency than areas to its East or west. But it definitely has had to contend with a lot of destruction in recent years. I know all too well what close together hits can do to a community. My area near the MS/AL line sustained devastating flooding in Georges only be wiped out by Katrina. It really has never recovered. It seems like many of the areas around there have a similar story to tell even pre -Laura. I’d be interested to know stats on what’s been rebuilt Vs abandoned After Rita/Ike/Harvey floods...I’m guessing many folks have moved to higher ground.

If Laura's pressure continue to drop at a rate ~3 mb/hr, with around 15-16 hrs left before landfall, even if it drops to 1-2 mb/hour, 930sh mb is not out of the of the question at or before landfall.
IMO.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.
