Believable 121mph bin in the ne quad on radar

I saw even up to 123 mph when comparing to the color bar.

Winds are picking up more and over 12 inches of rain has fallen near my house, With another 15 to 18 inches coming I am concerned. Water is creeping up the sand bags in my back yard at my double french doors. Have leaks in my townhouse now in 5 different places and pots and towels out. Power is still on but has gone off twice and came back on after 2 to 3 mins. quite a few flickers of the lights in between. Sally needs to move on !! Reminds me of Ivan the terrible ,now Sally theB!$# !! So no sleep tonight having to maintain leaks and water levels plus whats Still to come....

Do you have a high enough spot in your townhome to safely escape to? I am sending y’all good thoughts for the night.

Yes, the second story will be fine. Just cut me some 2 by 4 s to make blocks to put all my furniture on off the floor . Tile floors so that will be ok.

Went thru that in flash flood once, horrible feeling, I was a poor student so all I had was soup cans to put furniture legs on

Satellite is clearing an eye. I thought this would be a weaking storm this morning. Could this slide east of Pensacola?

Ivanhater I truly wish you the best in all of this. I have a bad feeling about this one. I'm not normally one to sensationalize my posts, but with the entire area receiving 7-10 inches of rain in the past 36 hours, the amount of downed trees and powerlines is going to present some issues.

It is the same feeling sitting here on the exact same night as Ivan. Glad to see you and other familiar faces here though!

September 16 and Deja vu. I was in Milton for Ivan. Now I am on Blackwater Bay. Very surge prone area. Gonna be a long night I am afraid

That would equate to 86 kt once adjusted for height as well.

95 kt FL winds on both sides of the eyewall during that pass, with SFMR close to 85 kt and an extrapolated pressure down to 969 mbar. Sally is getting very close to Category 2 status if she isn’t already there.

Drop was 971. Took a N jog. Should get a SW to NE pass next.

Eye is now closed. If anything, the intensification could accelerate overnight.

At this rate, a major hurricane can't be ruled out.

I’ve been following radar closely, and it appears to still be on a heading toward Orange Beach. Very very slowly, but surely. It’s about 35-40 miles SSW of Gulf Shores presently.

Data from An Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft and
the Mobile Alabama Doppler weather radar indicate that Sally has
strengthened to 90 mph (150 km/h).

A sustained wind of 67 mph (108 km/h) with a gust to 82 mph (131
km/h) was recently reported in the Sally's northern eyewall by NOAA
buoy 42012, located about 50 miles southeast of Mobile, Alabama.

I expect them to go gradual before completely jumping the gun on intensity. Now that the eyewall was just found closed, and if it stays that way they may get less bearish through the night.
