looks to me like it took quite a few jogs to the north or north-north west in that particular loop

Eye looks to be right on the updated forecast track now.
Maybe another story by the time recon finishes up.

Looks like a classic hurricane. A bit late for a western GoM hurricane this strong this late in the season...

Looks like Delta is certainly on pace for my 140mph peak prediction... Maybe even higher :double:

Based on Satellite alone, that sure looks stronger than a 105MPH Hurricane to me.........I'm skeptical that it's only that strong......

Good day to all of you....when exactly is Delta gonna start moving away from Setexas?....every time I look at the satellite images...it seems to be getting too close for comfort...I live in Brazoria Counry...bout 15-20 miles from Freeport....what type of conditions can we expect in my neck of the woods?....

Comparing the Delta thread to f.e. Laura and Sally it is still surprisingly quiet. I think this one might surprise a lot of people by how strong is is/will become. I think many people checked out once the Wilma level potential wasn't realized, but this is shaping up to be one massive major hurricane right now.

It already is a massive tropical cyclone. It will cause major problems with surge and will have an expansive wind field. It is going to create much havoc unfortunately for the people along the North Central Gulf Coast and even areas inland into Louisiana and into the Lower MS and TN River Valleys.

I am curious to see if this northward movement is a prolonged wobble or if stays moving north.. The storm is supposed to make it to make it right at 94W and we are at 93.3ish
