Re: ATL: ETA - Tropical Storm - Discussion
Eta is firing several hot towers around the CoC, apparently trying to rebuild its inner core. If it keeps out dry air, I could see a weak hurricane within the next 36 hours.

You know it has been a long season when us S2K'ers are ready for it to end. Eta just needs to go away already. DIE!!! I'm ready for a big cold front down here in SE Florida!!!

Eta appears to be tracking around the Cuban ULL rather than the ridging.
There is dry air even in the Western Caribbean so we can hope for dissipation.
Has picked up some convection this afternoon so probably will keep its name for a while.

I'm cheering for the NHC forecast. This storm looked horrible all day and hopefully after tonight it's shredded some more.

Eta is redevloping a CDO.

It is Eta that is extremly stubborn.
EDIT: WAIT? IS IT HEADING TOWARDS CUBA FOR A 4TH LANDFALL!?

Still diving SW on IR. This is one of those storm paths like the ones you see from years ago and think “how did that crazy storm go that way.” Eta is currently moving totally opposite of a November climatological path for November.

Some earlier model runs did show Eta taking sharp enough of a dive to scrape the western edge of Cuba.

ETA is definitely strengthening once again. That deep convection will spin up the cyclone the same way pressing down on the gas pedal revs up an engine.

CDO cloud tops down to -80C, Eta is getting stronger again. (Maybe a smaller windfield?)

I can’t believe it’s been a full week since Eta’s T#8.5 pinhole ERI phase. Just like then, recon is having comm issues.

The CDO core of 97L is very similar to Eta, What do you think about it?
