Well, this is a nice change from the doldrums, even if it is just today! :) I'm praying we get something meaningful.

Area Forecast Discussion...UPDATED
National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio TX
1156 AM CDT Thu Jul 14 2022

...New UPDATE...

.UPDATE...
Issued at 1144 AM CDT Thu Jul 14 2022

A cluster of storms is ongoing across northeast Texas in association
with a mid-level trough. The cluster is forecast to continue to push
southwestward this afternoon to affect areas of the Hill Country and
along of Interstate 35 including the cities of Austin and San
Antonio.
Some storms will be capable of producing heavy downpours and
strong wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph. Can`t rule out a few severe
storms rolling into our area this afternoon and therefore the
reasoning of the Storm Prediction Center to upgrade most of South
Central Texas into marginal risk
of severe thunderstorms for the new
Day 1 Convective Outlook.

Little cell over FW! Nice to see something on radar! I’m too far west and now north, but wonderful to see people getting something.

Outflow is bringing some wind and cooling. Down to 94 from 100!

We just got the outflow. Feels a little better, but no rain here at office. I think the outflow screwed us out of the rain chance.

I’m pleasantly surprised that the temp has stayed at roughly 90 since the initial drop. Sometimes it rebounds fast, so nice to be more seasonal for one day.

Peaked at 93 earlier today, now sitting at 79. Could the 100s streak be at risk?Image

I would say yes because it would be very difficult for the temperature to warm back to 100 this late in the day.

96 the high at DFW but that was before the clouds/spotty rain. 91 hovering, what a lovely day. How different it is with afternoon storms vs unrelenting heat, I'd take this all summer.

This must be what Atlanta summers are like.

Speaking personally, not sure you can overstate the psychological relief a day like today in North Texas can bring.

We had a pretty decent thunderstorm earlier today in Brazoria. The cloud cover and the rain was for sure a luxury, and relief from the heat. I'm hoping for more!

A below-average low at DFW this morning - 75 degrees. Feels downright pleasant out there. Enjoy it while we can. Halfway point of meteorological summer!

Small wins.

Almost don't feel bad Tulsa's forecast is near 110F from the NWS! OKC either, braggarts with the rain in May :ggreen:

109 yesterday and then a temp of 65 this morning with a dew. I wasn’t expecting that with the recent lows of around 80.

The little temp break was awesome even though no precip. Sadly next week looks like the hottest yet on GFS. :(

Some nasty heat in the forecast for Oklahoma/KS (Texas isn't cool either). This is not a 10 day forecast but within 5 days for them, jeesh.

Some all time records in play for the I-40 corridor.
