I don't think the outflow can get any better than this.

The consensus is north of there at least at the moment. The NHC pretty much matches the TVCN just NW of Tampa

This IR presentation is frustrating. I cannot grasp what is going on under the hood. Ian has not been intensifying like most deep tropic Canes IMO. It isn't clearing out an eye at all.

I had to remember to put "IMO" in my opinion. You are 100% correct. But these models (for now) are trending east.

I live in Winter Haven. Can anyone tell what I can expect here with the current track? Starting to get a bit nervous.

NOAA2 is not even at the center, yet it's reporting extrapolated pressure at 984.1 mb with 59 knot FL winds.

Wow that's insane! and let 's hope the storm won't be any stronger than predicted, otherwise it could be even worse...I have a feeling we will be talking about Ian for many years to come.

Let me clarify, it is not showing dual rotating hot towers while clearing out an eye. Also, it has more feeder bands than any other hurricane that I can think of ATM. It also has been pulsing in convection and intensifying in its earlier stages with stratiform low level convergence. Its just strange to me.

Definitely an outer eyewall now.. the inner one is rotating around. however, the outer one is quickly contracting too.

I live in Northern Pinellas County on the border of Clearwater and Palm Harbor about 1/2 mile East of US 19. I do not live in a evecuation zone so my wife and I will be riding this one out.
I will try to give weather updates as long asi I have power and internet. Good luck to all my neighbors in the area.

In spite of the issues you have with appearance, Ian is still steadily intensifying. Currently, Ian appears to be undergoing an ERC

I think Patricia had the best outflow ever. Trough enhanced outflow is the most favorable. If Ian got Poleward and Equatorial outflow, it would be ventilating better.
