Meanwhile down in Austin, getting some heavy downpours, lightning and thunder currently. Good thing it's not below freezing now...

The GFS from 0z and 6z has trended drier, but is it still under the Windshield Wiper effect for a little while longer?

Yeah, I just started getting moderate to heave downpours here as well with some thunder claps. Nice to have a decent rain before the Siberian Express.

ICON is still trending west, maybe a double strike for this one?

The 12z ICON is already running? Or are you referring to 6z?

Latest NAM coming in much faster with Arctic front...21F DFW by Noon Thursday. Precip is going to be really tough with this one, extremely dry air moving in quickly. For North Texas, may get quick freezing drizzle/flurries on the front end but it ends abruptly.

The Big Story though, Textbook Blue Norther...as drastic of a temp drop as you'll ever find in this part of the world!!! :double: Those on the coast could see a 50 F temp drop in less than 12 hours. I believe the documented World Record is 67 F drop in 10 hours.

This one is going to hurt. That will be a massive drop in temperatures.

I was referring to 6z trends compared to the past several runs.

Just incredible. What time are we looking at frontal passage? I want to be sure to be able to feel this bad boy blow in.

Let’s face it, Texas and Louisiana aren’t getting any frozen precip out of this. We’ll have to wait for the next system….

Nice little rain event this morning in the Austin area. Got about 1.5" of rain in several hours at the Portastorm Weather Center in scenic south Austin. :D

Good to see central Texas cash in before the arctic hammer. I wonder if the San Antonio folks got any. They need it badly.
