No rain or any cold fronts in the models for the future. And a good bit more of 90 degrees.

Not looking great considering by late September we usually have decent cooldowns on the way.

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Might be a decent severe threat for north central Texas Sunday afternoon/evening, as highlighted by the SPC Day 3 Outlook.

I don't expect the permanent change until the second half of October, but I hope I'm wrong. I will be happy with temps below 100, frankly. I am used to hot Septembers in Texas.

That's a large map with no context. What are you saying is scary, for who, where and when?

Yeah I noticed even up here we nearly hit 100 a year ago yesterday so it's not like this is unheard of

Any way you slice it, I find it disgusting! :x

Twenty years ago it seemed we would consistently get our first decent front by this time of September. Now? Maybe we can hope for the third week of October. smh.

Lately it has been mid-end of October before it cools off to more fall like temperatures. Eventually fall will win out. I'm just hoping we at some point this winter have a decent opportunity to have enough cold air and precipitation to have winter weather to get excited about.

As far as I’m concerned, summer is May through September in my books. Then 2 months of fall, 3 months of winter, 2 months of spring.

While I generally would agree. It just feels so much hotter when September is averaging higher than a normal July AND August for DFW. Heat we are familiar, duration and consistency is the stupid of it all. We shouldn't normalize what is abnormal, what has occurred so far in September is indicative of a mid summer month.

Heat advisory today for North Texas region on the Fall equinox.

The heat index is still brutal. I registered a heat index of 108°F yesterday. Ridiculous for the third week of September.

Ugh, 12z models appear to be backing off the rain event tomorrow for DFW after looking really good for several runs now.

I think until the PDO backs off, and Atlantic cools, we're not going to see the coupling of the Nino to help. I'm learning the hard way this year -PDO/+AMO couplet is just brutal.

Weird SPC is still widespread with tomorrow’s likely non-event for DFW.
