Yeah I noticed even up here we nearly hit 100 a year ago yesterday so it's not like this is unheard of

Twenty years ago it seemed we would consistently get our first decent front by this time of September. Now? Maybe we can hope for the third week of October. smh.

As far as I’m concerned, summer is May through September in my books. Then 2 months of fall, 3 months of winter, 2 months of spring.

While I generally would agree. It just feels so much hotter when September is averaging higher than a normal July AND August for DFW. Heat we are familiar, duration and consistency is the stupid of it all. We shouldn't normalize what is abnormal, what has occurred so far in September is indicative of a mid summer month.
Heat advisory today for North Texas region on the Fall equinox.
