Atmosphere is pretty stable with temps stuck in the 60's didn't help our cause either.

Having said that, a good portion of the area has received 1-2 inches with some isolated higher totals in a few locations. One thing I'm watching on radar is a blob of heavier rain near Eagle Pass. Hopefully that will move further NE and provide some additional rainfall this evening/overnight before the system begins to clear the area tomorrow.

Agreed that today has been disappointing but not unexpected with the persistent heavy rain across deep south TX. Still we could see more tonight into tomorrow, and much of the area has already seen 1-2 inches so far! I'm thankful...even if we don't see anymore it's been a very beneficial event!

No question. Seeing a little redevelopment tonight over the metro. Light to moderate showers on radar falling across the Edwards Aquifer recharge zone where we're approaching totals around 3 inches plus up there per radar estimates so beneficial indeed.

Been missing out on most of the rain as well in Longview. Did have 0.12" so far this morning with maybe a bit more to come.

SPC has a large portion of NE TX in a slight risk on Sunday, but as has been the case recently and in line with the Enhanced risk area, the worst of it all should stay north and east of here.

Had some steady rain for a few hours here. Good soaking and more importantly enough rain to wash all the dust and pollen away for now. Allergies have been awful the past week.

Looks like maybe .05 here on radar. Lol. Need to get my Ambient Weather rain collector working again. It hasn't worked for a month or two for some reason.

Radar gazing and checking obs, temps similar between Houston area and Beaumont area, but lower 60s dewpoints vs upper 60s dewpoints is what differentiates no/light rain from heavy rain.

A few hours ago the leading edge of the deep convection in the Gulf of Mexico plus a SE wind flow matched up well with where rainfall changed from light and scattered to more convective. The convection has progressed E-ward in the Gulf so the 'exhausted air' being generated now will shift the convection further E into Louisiana.

Yep models are showing a potent storm system around April 5th. With a nice SE ridge to keep things locked in.

People on the front plains of CO are watching this system closely. If a large ULL tracks along the NM/CO border, brings very large amounts
(at least a food, depending on speed) of snow to the Denver area.

wxman22 yup, models show a cut off low developing around that time with a very slow movement east, while more rain would be welcomed, the ground is pretty saturated in many areas across the state so that could be a flooding setup worth watching down the road

Tornado warnings near the Sabine. Radar indicated. So far.

Extreme E Texas now in a watch. I don't know if the slight dewpoint gradient downstream of the Gulf storms has created a triggering boundary. Or maybe just the higher dewpoint is the need.

IMO the Houston Metro counties should be included in this watch.

While its good to see areas of the state that needs the rain, get it and then some haha, talk about near 20 inches close to brownsville, the long term pattern suggests active weather sticks around through april , models are showing a slightly concerning setup around the 5th or 6th with a very slow moving cut off upper low over new mexico just kind of sitting and pumping alot of rain into the state, flooding could become more of an issue with the grounds in many areas fully saturated
