A nice widespread 1-2 inches of rain fell across the SA metro early this morning. Bonus opportunity verified.

Hopefully we can cash in this week as our active pattern continues and shifts a little further south.

Yesterday was very active here with that massive supercell. I also received about 1.5 inches of rain. While areas to my east in Clay county received up to 9 inches of rain! With more storms coming next week. The next system up here looks to be on Wednesday as a MCS moves through. Love to see it.

I have to remind myself, the seasan is still young.

Although historically, the climatological peak
for severe weather is late April / early May in DFW (May & June are also the wettest months), last season we were also literally getting missed in every which direction until the 2 week period in late May / early June where we seemingly got slammed by strong/severe t'storms daily.

That said, if not for 3/5, my patience would be a lot thinner.

More active pattern later this week, hopefully that doesn't mean more tornadoes for me. Ada got hit last night by the 2nd tornado in just over a month

Got about a tenth of an inch of rain. Glad for those west and south who cashed in some. it was rather concentrated due to the dry-slot further east. The next couple of weeks will provide ample support for qpf however it will be chaotic in nature where it isn't as concentrated but different localities will see quite a bit on and off basis, especially near and east of I-35. This is typical climo, pretty well expected mid to late Spring.

OUN is expecting an additional 3-4 inches of rain this week (Tuesday-Friday). Hopefully more parts of the state can get in on the heavy rain next week. Expect potential changes in the forecast from day to day next week as the storms will be primarily mesoscale driven.

taking a look at some of the extended ensembles, and they all point to the pattern staying wet through the third week of may at the very least, im pretty optimistic the state isnt going to go into summer with pre existing drought conditions , well at least no significant drought issues

It could have literally just been a flash flood where they were driving and all of a sudden the water just rose up.

Sounds like a child died. Very scary and very unfortunate.

It rained in my yard. I wanted more, but the two week dry spell has ended. Effective front has passed Houston and is slowing down.

Well after a break today we start watching to our west/nw this week for some MCV's. Hopefully one or two of these hits.

The other thing to watch is old outflow boundaries from leftover storms to see if those can activate with the help from daytime heating.

Models may be hit or miss this week so daily updates likely in my opinion.

Yep, the Euro is most bullish on this the next few days so rooting for it to verify.

In the longer range, latest ensembles are indicating lower pressure heights across the Southern U.S. in the 1-2 week time period so hopefully that will lead to more widespread rain chances.

My part of Houston was the same, early yesterday morning, but triple and more rain amounts just SE of Houston as storms slowed.


HRRR suggests convergence along the coast will lead to scattered storms. Dryline action in West Texas, STP is low but VIL suggests a few hailers. Don't know if the one lone cell that gets feisty down near Waco early this evening happens, something to watch. W Texas action could survive to I-35.
