Voted Not sure. Sure what they did was wrong, and I wouldn't want my children to watch it (but we don't own a tv, so that won't happen). CBS, in my opinion knew full well what they were going to do, as part of the MTV family of companies (Viacom). They can try to deny it to look good, but it is all about ratings.

I voted yes too. I do believe that Justin TimberLake is regretting it but not Janet Jackson. You are known by the company you keep.

Look at what the Academy did to Russell Crowe that year. They gave the Oscar to Denzel Washington for Training Day when everyone knew good and well Russell Crowe deserved it for a Beautiful Mind. Had he behaved himself he would have won it.

Same thing should happen with those two.

I said yes - I think it's about time a message was sent. Keep that stuff off of Prime Time and in the appropriate channels, networks, etc.

I don't believe CBS knew about it but I do believe MTV did. JMO!

I agree Bonnie. MTV is getting well known for this type stuff. I remember when they used to play videos. Ah those were the days!!

I'm confused.

Were they expected to be presenters or performers at the Grammys, or where they just going to be there in the audience along with several dozen other celebs? Obviously, if they were only going to be in the audience, CBS could have kept the cameras off them and let things be.

Janet Jackson was going to be a presenter and Justin was performing. Not now or hopefully not now.

Glad there are several who agree with me that they should be banned!

Unfortunately......these two are "role models" for lots of young people......along with other MTV performers. Knowing their "show" would be viewed by such a large number of people......of all ages......and thinking it would be easily accepted sure doesn't say much for our society if we have little reaction!!

I was interested in what the students had to say so I listened to their comments......(remember, they're 16, 17, & 18 yr. olds) Sure, there were jokes and snickers, but MOST WERE DISGUSTED AND UNIMPRESSED WITH THESE ANTICS!!............p

  I understand that this was inappropriate but come on. We would have to ban a lot of people from TV and performances just to put a tiny dent in stopping kids from seeing this. Watch some primetime shows, they also have nudity,NYPD did or still does. My point is what they did wasn't HALF as bad as some stuff I have seen on tv or the shows or movies that are shown on regular TV. There is a lot more things I would like to see not shown on tv but this is america and we can't censor everything

Those shows have warnings at the beginning that says adult content, not suitable for children. Exposing her breast on national tv at a football game was totally uncalled for. IMO! BOOT EM BOTH!!!

2nd part sounds like a post from somebody else.

Will the real Jonathan please take 3 steps forward! :)

let me add, through personal experience: sometimes a post, or a pm, can end up tagged along the end of another post or pm, to somebody different.

It has happened to me

So, J, you saw it too? Good, I knew I wasn't seeing things.

Which was confusing as heck because it sounded like Johnathan was contradicting himself. But then, it changed and your post was there on my next check of the forum.

Oh ok.
I accidentally hit edit and posted in John's posts. Had to go back and edit that one and do my own post. I was trying to "quote" Johnathan. Sorry about the mishap. Thought I caught it before anyone read it.

LOL!! Okay, gotcha now. :) I thought maybe Justin Timberlake had ripped the logic out of Johnathan's brain at first. Now it all makes sense.
