Is the big deal reserved for only him?
I mentioned yesterday that I had done some research on this very topic so I am going to share my results with you. Un fortunately, I think the "big deal" was reserved for Bill Clinton and that at this point in time, the American people are almost immune to extramarital affairs. Personally, I find it disgusting. But, look at what sexual-related bad behaviour I turned up about public officials. Let me tell you this research took all of about 10 minutes, I'm afraid to think what I could have found out with a little digging.............
Congressional affairs involving Representatives Barr, Burton, Chenoweth, Hyde and Livingston.
Colorado Governor Roy Romer's relationship with a top aide and adviser.
Speaker Newt Gingrich's relationship with a Hill committee aide.
Inappropriate behavior by Representative Bill Paxson
Rudy Guiliani's very public affair while he was mayor of New York.
Georgia gubernatorial candidate Mike Bowers' admitted affair with his secretary.
Kerry Kennedy Cuomo's public affair let to divorce court.

There were others that I didn't list.
How many of these events do you remember? All of these got a fair share of coverage in the news. Some of the parties resigned. But some were very open about their infidelity and have no stigma or shame attached to their very public personalities.
So, there you have it. Kerry says he didn't do it. No one (except Matt Drudge) and maybe Mrs. Kerry really seems to care.
