Early treatment for prostate cancer has nothing to do with a man's ability to "perform" so to say. If he had surgery then maybe for a month or two but 2 years? I don't think so LOL

Bocagirl, you don't think many people are going to make a big deal about a politician having an affair? Look at the huge hoopla over Clinton's affair.
Is the big deal reserved for only him?

I think we all need to recognize that there is good and bad, honest and dishonest in both parties. Labeling every member of a certain party and saying they all have the same character traits is inaccurate. No one should say, "All Democrats do that" or "All Republicans do this" because there are always exceptions. I lean toward being a Democrat in many ways, but I am totally, completely anti-abortion for any reason. I consider myself a moral person in much the same way that many Conservatives do, but I draw the line at war. If others would examine their feelings, perhaps some of them would realize that many of us share ideals with both parties.

MF dolfin, I just did some research on impotence and prostate cancer. According to a 2000 report in the American Journal of Medicine, approximately 59.4% of men with prostate cancer become permanently impotent. Incontinence is a frequent problem, also.

While those may be the overall statistics I think you'll find that a disproportionate of those striken by impotence are African American. They tend to wait longer to get care and therefore have a higher incidence. With a man of Kerry's position and with the high profile of this problem, it's a good asumption that his was caught early. I will try and find some specifics for us. Either way, it doesn't take a "performance" to have an affair. At least unless we're going to get into that discussion again LOL

On Imus this morning, wasn't Kerry's reply "There is no story here" when asked about the allegations?
Does that mean "there was no affair" or "there was an affair, but I'm not talking about it"??? LOL

Not to mention he committed perjury and obstruction of justice.

I mentioned yesterday that I had done some research on this very topic so I am going to share my results with you. Un fortunately, I think the "big deal" was reserved for Bill Clinton and that at this point in time, the American people are almost immune to extramarital affairs. Personally, I find it disgusting. But, look at what sexual-related bad behaviour I turned up about public officials. Let me tell you this research took all of about 10 minutes, I'm afraid to think what I could have found out with a little digging.............

Congressional affairs involving Representatives Barr, Burton, Chenoweth, Hyde and Livingston.

Colorado Governor Roy Romer's relationship with a top aide and adviser.

Speaker Newt Gingrich's relationship with a Hill committee aide.

Inappropriate behavior by Representative Bill Paxson

Rudy Guiliani's very public affair while he was mayor of New York.

Georgia gubernatorial candidate Mike Bowers' admitted affair with his secretary.

Kerry Kennedy Cuomo's public affair let to divorce court.

*******************

There were others that I didn't list.

How many of these events do you remember? All of these got a fair share of coverage in the news. Some of the parties resigned. But some were very open about their infidelity and have no stigma or shame attached to their very public personalities.

So, there you have it. Kerry says he didn't do it. No one (except Matt Drudge) and maybe Mrs. Kerry really seems to care.

Thanks for the inof, Bocagirl. It just makes my point that some men in both parties have been unfaithful, and I hate all of it, regardless of party.
