Watches/Warnings

#1 Postby Anonymous » Mon Feb 16, 2004 10:15 am

It's obvious that someone will get a warning and others will not. When will they be issued, being that the storm is tomorrow evening.

trust me, I'm not. the only thing that's on my mind is a aday off from school. All I need is 4 inches and it's done. I hope I get that much, to be honest, I want 7-12. the models are starting to trend back west so, we will see.

all depends on that track. So many people have been saying a storm for this time period for the area. I see no reason why this will not hit us. Time will tell. When will watches be issued?

if any watches at all are issued they would first start out in Central NC through most of Virginia this afternoon.

That is probably true. The models suggest that further north will be clocked also so watches will be up from your location to eastern Long Island by 9 p.m. tonight. What do you think? I think it will only be issued for coastal counties, inland mught just get an advisory.

Usually areas along and west of I95 get the worst, this is a backward scenario...with heaviest snow from I95 to the coast......I think SNE and NJ may get a slight coastal grazing..but only on the low end of an Advisory, I see absolutely nothing to support Warning criteria there....but always room for error in weather...much different story south in VA and NC where Warning Criteria will be easily met!

I agree hurricanedude, I'm going 1-3" for the S NJ coast ATTM. Nothing for the C and N NJ coast.

It is well known that the models will continue to flip-flop 1evans. The models for this storm haven't really come to a generalized consensus at all. This storm has been tricky for our pro-mets to forecast. Take a chill pill and see what happens.

I think he's still got a shot. It wouldn't take much of a shift for inland east-central NJ to see significant snows.
