For N VA think lower end of 1-4, cuz of dry air probs with the limited qpf available.........

Looks about right...another minor snow event for the south/southeast and lower maryland

Albemarle VA-Anne Arundel MD-Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria VA- Calvert MD-Carroll MD-Charles MD-Culpeper VA-District of Columbia DC- Fairfax VA-Fauquier VA-Frederick MD-Greene VA-Harford MD-Howard MD- King George VA-Loudoun VA-Madison VA-Montgomery MD-Nelson VA- northern Baltimore MD-Orange VA-Prince Georges MD- Prince William/Manassas/Manassas Park VA-Rappahannock VA- southern Baltimore MD-Spotsylvania VA-St. Marys MD-Stafford VA-

... Winter weather possible late Tuesday through early Wednesday...

Low pressure is expected to develop off the North Carolina coast Tuesday afternoon... and move northeast to a position well off the Delmarva Wednesday morning. Light snow could begin by late Tuesday afternoon... with a period of heavier snowfall possible Tuesday night... tapering off by midday Wednesday.

East of the mountains... accumulations are expected to be very light... less than one inch. It looks like there will be a very sharp snowfall gradient with this storm... with several inches of snow possible across a portion of lower southern Maryland.

If advisories or warnings will later need to be issued... the most likely locations are St. Marys and Calvert counties.

Even with a more W track, remember the cold dry air. Even last PD, when we got the PD2, the high was 40 and it was 38 degrees at 11pm on Feb 14th. I remember that well. It started as RAIN.

Tuesday we will top out at 35 with very low dewpoints near zero. That is a lot of dry air, which is one good reason N VA will see very light amounts of snow. The column moistening will expend a lot of available qpf.

I understand that Jeb! Comprehende Si! But still the day on Tuesday will be cloudy, which will block the increase of Temperature... and the qpf files will be moistening all afternoon JeB!

Watch the track and we will see!! Know this I do, forseen it I have! (lol)

I will be personally suprised if teh DC-PHL-NYC area sees more then an inch or two. IT does not look very promising.

You going with snow on a hopeful further west and north track. This does not seem like it will happen. As much as I would love for us to get it, does not seem very likely.

but the GGEM, the ETA, and the GFS 12z model runs ALL shifted back west.... GFS 12z run gives DCA around .5 liquid qpf!!!
