when should the precip begin to form? what about the watches/warning? haven't seen them. How are y'all so sure when some models have almost nothing...and others give us a clobbering...never seen such a thing before?!

wow, I don't know... but I hope it pans out.

I don't think there will be that much precip out toward the west. NE/E NC should have little to no accumulations of snow.

Nothing for the NJ coast and LI. We will get something, most likely the most. By the way south NJ and Deleware have winter storm watches. 4+, expected.

Precip should start here in central virginia around 3 pm with snow showers and get heavier as time goes on ending around daybreak wednesday. he is going strictly on the gfs model for this. they have been the most consistent and are usually best for qpf.

Okay, I admire your map, and I like that you have 5 to 7 inches for me, but I would like to take this opportunity to politely and respectfully request that you explain how you came up with these snow amounts on your fine map? :) :)

Thanks! :) :)

The GFS model has a sharp cutoff on precip out west of Richmond and the rain/snow line in SE VA for most of the event, the line moves SE WED night which should bring a few inches of snow to the lower Hampton Roads before the snow ends Wednesday Morning.

Here is my 2nd map

Nice map, verycoolnin. You have me in the 1 to 3 inch category, which I feel is right on the money, though you should put me down for an inch of snow on the level by the time this puppy wraps up and heads to NJ to clobber 1evans with 30 inches of snow on Wednesday through Thursday.

well that post was a reply to a comment that he based his map on the GFS, I believe it was SkyWatcher. SkyWatcher then edited his post making mine seem a bit out of place.

You know, I hope that map is accurate (I'm in the 7-10in range)... but I believe my area will see a slushy 3 or 4 inches.

I don't agree at all with your map, I think you are too underdone across southern New England, and way overdone further south across Virginia and North Carolina, based on the data.

Agreed with the "overdone" for the middle atlantic states, but by going with the GFS he may be right about the NE.

Why do you think this? Off of what model?

The way things look attm, you gotta realize the snows will be located along the coast. The farther inland you go, the snows will be MUCH less.
