This is a flood that killed 50 people with a 100 missing in a place that normally sees hardly any rain...this is an occurrence that will get more and more common as the days and months and years (if we have that much time) pass but we will see it in our lifetimes.....until the big moment of decision....no way out.....all this until the human race starts caring for each other again...really caring, loving and respecting each other (from the "poorest" to the "richest") and all life.
Points of light in the sky not man made will move like never before...until a piece of the sky strikes the Earth. It will probably be a small impact at first (there will be a lot more where that came from)...just a warning that we MUST pay attention to greater concerns than war, hate, mistrust, greed , no empathy, no understanding, no love.
There will be many more signs that something big will happen and that we MUST pay attention to greater concerns than money and things. Time is not our ally anymore and we MUST pay attention to a greater way of life than the muck and mire we have turned our home into. Peace and love is the only way to save ourselves.
Droughts and floods are extremes and they lead to other extremes.
Will become more common

I dont want to be...
I dont want to be all doom and gloom but lets face it people ....there are some mighty big issues we as a global people have to deal with and by us ignoring these very important issues or pretending they dont exist is not going to get these problems solved. We just cant go willy nilly into the future without any real plans on how to deal with the problems ...we need plans and as close to total international effort as we can get on doing something about the issues.
Food, air, water, land usage...healthy ecosystems. Global corruption, crime, war, hatred, misunderstanding....all these issues need a solution....or something very close to one. What ever made people believe we would have forever to fix up our home the Earth and our understanding of life called "civilization"?

I did write to president Clinton one time. I like him ...at least with him you felt there was hope in the future.

You can't give up when the going gets tough. Hang in there and take a positive outlook, then *do* something positive. Work with the existing system and you can effect change that way.

How Much Above?
Solar -- how much is the rainfall currently above average in Saudi Arabia and Djibouti? Are these rare thunderstorm type events not usually seen in these countries?
Related to your topic is a thread in the Hurricane forum about a possibly developing Hurricane headed to Oman and/or Saudi Arabia. How rare would this event be should it take place?
