breezy - didn't know you had another child! Congrats! Wow, I'm impressed - you're taking a baby camping! Years ago I camped a lot with my family. Every holiday weekend and several more weekends each summer. Boating, fishing, playing cards, so much fun. My brother got married and brought his wife along on two trips that my family will never forget - one when his wife was 6 months pregnant. My dad couldn't get our usual shady camping spot (we roughed it, pulling up to primitive ones on boats at Lake Monroe in Indiana). The one he got was in tall grass and the sun. Linda lasted about a day! All of a sudden we see them packing up - heading home. The next trip with them their baby was about your baby's age - they lasted the entire weekend. But it wasn't easy! This trip Linda talked my dad into a camp ground with bathroom/shower facilities. And shade! That was their last camping trip with us. That baby is now 26! But if you can pull it off, I say go for it!
We rented Independence Day again. Jim and I have seen it, years ago. Kids have never watched it. Well, let's just say we all went to sleep very, very late last night - they said it was too scary. I said - hey didn't it make you feel so proud of your country? They couldn't get past the destruction, aliens, etc. Oh well, disaster flicks never give me nightmares. So we're all bleary eyed today. Moving very slowly! Actor playing the Prez, Bill Pullman, sure gives a moving speech right before the final battle. Gave me goose bumps again, in light of all that's happened since 9/11 and Iraq.
Happy 4th to all!
Mary
