Radar eye like feature
Looking at the Charleston radar loop, all I can say is wow. Sure isnt very clear, but there is an area of lower reflectivity surrounded by a ring of more intense convection

I agree. and if so I am wrong on the direction I was seeing based on the IR earlier

Take a look at the Jacksonville Radar Loop, it looks even more impressive:

I would expect the recon to find a strong tropical storm when they get there, probably winds of 60mph and pressure around 1000mbs. I think the system has a good shot of becoming a hurricane during the next 24 hours when it will be right under the ULH. Witness that now better developed LLC sitting on top of the VERY warm Gulf Stream waters and you know what that means....business!

Wow...
Pressure 992mb! That'a about the threshold for hurr. strength. Definately a more symetric system, Jim Cantore will probably be very excited in his live shots
although this storm is forecasted to stay offshore
