Whats this mean? Will Frances go more South? More West? I'm over here in Cape Coral and not sure what we should do as far as stocking up on food, water ,etc... I've heard it said that Fort Myers should be pretty safe, but people around here don't seem so sure! Charley shook us all up pretty good!

Is it just me or does the ridge look thin where F is approaching. I'm no pro, so I don't know how these two will act together, but is it inconcievable that it will split the two or 'kink' it? Or is the ridge going to push up while F pushes down...
Ok here is what I am seeing:
The ridge looks like it see-saws in that loop... also, on top left edge of ridge over S GA there is circulation and moisture that dissapates at the end. The moisture remaining acts like it is going to move away to the north... would this allow the ridge to pivot/push up out of the way of F?

BTW, this is fun discussion and all, but if you're in Florida and trying to plan what to do, DON'T BASE YOUR DECISIONS ON WHAT YOU READ IN THESE THREADS. A great deal of the posters are NOT professional meteorologists, and certainly few to none here have the same experience as any one of the NHS forecasters, let along the NHS as a team. GO BY WHAT THE NHS SAYS. Listen to your local emergency management; they've got an information pipeline to NOAA.
Right now the NHS is saying that anyone in eastern or southern Florida should assume hurricane force winds will enter in less than 32 hours. Anyone in eastern and shouthern Florida COULD see the eye of this storm pass over them. Plan accordingly! You don't want to be caught with your knickers down.

Well, there have been lots of scattered questions in the threads from panicky sounding people wondering why the models keep shifting and getting all worked up because someone has the opinion that the storm will hit Charleston or cross over Florida and slam New Orleans. This site is probably getting a bit more exposure than normal from people who are just looking for some answers.
