WFTV Orlando Reporting Landfall at Stuart

This may synch with the 8 AM Advisory, but interesting to see the local mets finally start to make some more specific calls than they have up to this point.

NHC is close to that, Jupiter Inlet/Vero etc. Don't focus on the exact point.

I'm in FL, but not sure where Stuart is. What are two immediate towns surrouding Stuart? Or what county? Thanks.

It's on the St. Lucie/Martin County line between Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie and West Palm Beach.

My post doesn't make me a crab, and I'm not saying anything against the original poster, SeaBrz_Fl. My point is that some of these local METS would rather have a p*ssing match about who gets the landfall right rather than learn from Charley and help the public they serve to stop focusing on that landfall point. This storm will affect a LARGE land area, not just the landfall area around the eyewall. Post on...

This same local met had Orlando on it's toes with Charley.
Called back the wed. NHC track by 9am on friday.
Mind you..past performance history is not necessarily indicative of future accuracy.

I think with the size of this storm all we can hope for is to not get nailed by the 140mph winds.

If you're lucky enough to just get the category 1 winds, you should be happy. This thing is going to destroy our state.

Dang it...if anyone has learned anything from Charley it is that reporting a specific landfall point 48 hour in advance is irresponsible at best.

Please prepare if you are in a watch or subsequently in a warning area...do not lisen to this hype.

Everyone in the Cone of DANGER should prepare for the worst and pray for the best. Calling a landfall within 100 miles even 12 hours out is just fooling themself and unfortunately others
