no ...it isnt moving north...what it seems to be is that your "dot" appears to be going north becuase the dot..in fact..is going north...it seems to just be riding around the circulation..and well..circulation goes north on the east side...and south on the west...so the dot may be on the east side of the circulation...if you look at the eye as a whole or you look at some stationary refrence point like a city name or something you can see the eye as a whole is moving west...although there may be individual cells riding north or south or east or west around the circulation....

Way more west than north, and the only east is where it's already been. The eye is now moving over the beach. For any Floridians on here, what's the distance between West Palm Beach and Fort Pierce?

I'll admit that as of the 0115Z GOES east floater #2, the water vapor imagery gives an illusion of northerly movement...
That just may be convection.

just my opinion.

Al: It's 49 miles from W. Palm to Ft. Pierce.

I have this great website that can determine distances between any two points. It looks kind of wierd when it comes up because it's from Bali but it work worldwide.

Here's the link: http://www.indo.com/distance/ Hope this helps. I've been using it all day along with mapquest and a Fl map. Really learning my FL geography after living here for over 30 years.

Thanks Queen. I was wondering because it looks like Frances is going to barely squeeze between them. 49 miles is a wide eye. Say it's moving at 5 miles an hour, that means some people could be in the eye for 10 hours.
