LowMug...about all I can do!!!

#1 Postby LowMug » Tue Sep 14, 2004 7:01 pm

I am 500 yds from the Gulf and looking at a 15-20 ft storm surge...

The windows are boarded...furniture is wrapped in plastic...important documents and pictures are packed...sandbags at all entrances...and hope and fear are spiking to all time highs...

I wish the feeling I have right now on no one...the possibility of losing something you have worked so hard to obtain is crushing...

I hope all in Ivan's path will come through this unscathed...

Time to go, you've done everything you can possibly do. Best of luck to you and yours, I hope all remain safe through the coming days. I look forward to hearing from you after this is all over and pray the news will be good.

Great preps, LowMug! I truly understand the feelings that you are going through. Part of you is tugging you to stay and protect, but your common sense is saying "get moving". You've resisted the denial part (tough, I know) and are probably operating in slow motion at this point, but you sound like your plan is together so you're way ahead of most. Keep to the plan and leave early.

I am sure you are exhausted and hot from all the preparation, but getting to your safe evac destination early allows you a day or two to chill out before the storm hits.

Very, very best wishes and prayers for your safety, little damage to your home, and minimal damage to your area.

Well, it does sound like you've done everything you possibly can. i'm glad that you are going to leave and not try to stick it out. My prayers are going your way and for everyone else that is in Ivan's sights this evening! :(
