Lake Okeechobee concerns

#1 Postby Derek Ortt » Sat Sep 25, 2004 5:31 am

with this western track and the intensification, I am starting to become concerned about storm surge on the Lake. If this comes into WPB as a strong 3 or a weak 4, we may see tidal surges close to what we saw in 1928

I hear Ya Derek! Where are you figuring the center will be in proximity to the lake when it passes through?

given what you've just said Derek I take it you are still thinking further south than NHC

Derek if it goes right over the lake, will the lake be able to allow it to hold its intensity?

How do hurricanes react to large bodies of fresh water?

if it keeps moving west, LO will be in the RFQ

I do not forsee a scenario where LO will not experience an eye wall

What do you think about intensity?

landfall as borderline Cat3/4 130-135 mph hurricane?

Looks like I might be in Deep Do Do. I live in Sebring--on a canal.
