Lake Okeechobee concerns

with this western track and the intensification, I am starting to become concerned about storm surge on the Lake. If this comes into WPB as a strong 3 or a weak 4, we may see tidal surges close to what we saw in 1928

Derek if it goes right over the lake, will the lake be able to allow it to hold its intensity?

How do hurricanes react to large bodies of fresh water?

ASSUMING THE CURRENT FORECAST TRACK TO THE NORTH OF THE LAKE...NORTH TO NORTHWEST WINDS AHEAD OF JEANNE WILL PUSH THE WATER TOWARD THE SOUTH AND EAST ENDS OF THE LAKE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...FROM SOUTH BAY TO BELLE GLADE AND PAHOKEE...REACHING A
PEAK AROUND 21 FEET AROUND MIDNIGHT. THE PEAK OF THE WATER WILL GRADUALLY MOVE TO THE EAST SIDE AROUND PORT MAYACA BY 3 AM SUNDAY AS THE WINDS BACK TO THE
WEST...PEAKING AROUND 21 TO 22 FEET ABOVE MEAN SEA LEVEL. BY DAWN SUNDAY...THE PEAK WILL BE IN THE NORTH END OF THE LAKE FROM PORT MAYACA TO THE TOWN OF

..Do you think it will be on the south or west side of the lake? I know your forecast graphic yesterday showed it real close to Pt Charlotte.. Has that changed much?

if it keeps moving west, LO will be in the RFQ

I do not forsee a scenario where LO will not experience an eye wall

landfall as borderline Cat3/4 130-135 mph hurricane?
