Still moving due-west?

No one forcasted this much of a due-west motion

And since this is still moving west, I think it will have a impact on the forecast path alot

If it comes in south of Tampa would that be the worst side for Tampa versus a direct hit or to the north?

To the north of Tampa would be worse for surge, to the south for wind...

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but yes, it would be worse. You can add the forward motion speed to the projected max wind speed.

Using canned/unverified numbers:

80 MPH wind speed + 13 MPH rate of travel = 93 MPH

Plus the right side of a hurricane (in relation to it's motion) is more prone to tornados.

You're better off getting a direct hit than getting the right side of the eye.
