If it phases with the arctic jet shortwave, the east coast storm this weekend will have more energy and moisture to work with.

There's no way that southern jet will catch up with the arctic jet and add moisture. It will be too late.

Just thought I'd bump this back up. The Baja low is on the move east and will contribute to this storm.

But it is going to miss most of the storm in the US. It doesn't catch up to late IMO so maybe only the fringe of the East Coast catches it. That is the difference between a SECS and a MECS.
