Well guys it is getting closer and closer the start of hurricane season 2005.What it will bring in terms of numbers and landfalls?.The best thing to do is prepare for the worse and hope for the best.

cycloneye I need to tell my daughter that her birthday is only 44 days away, I'm sure she is getting excited...Casinos look out...she plans on being there!!!

Wow the time has gone fast, seems like it was 120 days or something not long ago.

NOAA has its annual Hurricane Awareness Week in mid May . The season is approaching fast. I think we will have an early system develope,like in June,or early July

just because the season starts doesn't mean it's an automatic switch to hurricanes.

You are correct as last year the first storm formed at August 1.However this is another year and every season is different.It may well be a late season or an early season depending on some of the predictable factors.

I really thought the system that hit Hispaniola at the end of May last year deserved a name.

Chances are there'll be at least a few potential systems for us all to obsess over whilst waiting for the heart of the season. :-)

Im excited too. Its like when I go to a Blues game and TOm Calhoun the announce says "we are just moments away from St. Louis Blues hockey"

Look at the 1930s-1950s. South FL was hit all of the time....we are reverting back to this era unfortunatley. They were hit from the South,West, East....every direction.
