ADRIAN could pull a MITCH....

#1 Postby HalloweenGale » Wed May 18, 2005 7:30 pm

Mitch completely died, then redeveloped, then passed florida, and became extratropical. Could ADRIAN do the same?

Don't even mention the name, that's like mentioning Armageddon.

I agree Hurakan, Mitch is like the word that should not be said. So much devastation from that horrible cane, I don't want ot even imagine any like it again in my lifetime.

The second most deadly Atlantic basin hurricane in history is not something I ever want repeated in my lifetime, and even though the sheer natural beauty and awesome power of Mitch was unbelievable, he was truly the storm from Hell.

you in Florida had only a tropical storm. Sure, Honduras was hit the hardest, and I am remorseful for that, but why is it armageddon?

Because something like Mitch can only be compared to the of the world for those people in Central America that had to live through that. Also, I was not here in Florida when Mitch hit, I was in Cuba but we knew what was happening.

This wont do a Mitch..Mitch was a CAT 5 that stalled for days over Honduras..This is expected to move right along thankfully..Thats not to say it wont cause life threatening floods but it will be no Mitch!

Uhhh....no.Is it just me or is this storm getting just a tad bit over-hyped?And why is Florida being mentioned so much, this storm would have to take a huge turn out of the forecasted track to even get close to Florida. Also this thing has not even made landfall in Mexico yet,we don't even know if it will even survive in the Carib.

Floridians are shell-shocked after last year.

Millions of cases of post-traumatic stress disorder, I'm sure.

I present Kevin's law

Code: Select all

Kevin's Law

Whenever in a tropical forum there is any possibility that the edge of a 5 day probability cone comes within 150nm from the coastline of a US state, there will be members who will at least mention there being a possibility of landfall there. This possibility approaches 1 as the number of members watching the event increases.

I'm confused you mean that not all tropical systems that form on this planet don't end up going though Florida ?

Kevin, then you have some people who say that obvious fish storms are still gonna magically work their way to their houses.

Micth also hit Honduras as a 70KT hurricane.

We wont see 80 inches of rain, but isolated 30 inch totals can be expected due to that large band on the southern edge of the storm
