Tighter center trying to form?
Looking at the latest IR and radar loops, it looks like a smaller center is trying to close off on the northern edge of the "big hole"...due south of the AL/FL border...anyone else see this?

I noticed that earlier on another thread at the bottom. It's almost as if she's trying to be cane, if only for a moment before landfall.

Check out the dry air working it's way in around Arlene.

Looks like landfall soon at Gulf Shores
the big "hole" is really just dry air...the center looks to be almost to the coast at Gulf Shores...looks like it might slide into eastern Mobile Bay or stay just inland on the Baldwin County side.

Perdido Key, Alabama looks to be the landfall point. Around where I stayed last summer. (Pheonix VII Condo's) My buddies from ABC 33/40 are down there and they are reporting this as WEAK! I would agree...at this point, there is center reformation undergoing, but it is wayyyyyy too late. Arlene down to 60 per latest NHC and she is now on the downward spiral. Torando threat looks to be lessening as well with all of this dry air intruding. Heavy rainfall is definately going to be a probelm on the west die.

I believe you are right, PTrackerLA. My guys in Gulf Shores report that they highest gust they have recieved during the entire event is 52mph. That was felt last hour as a pretty intense feeder band came onshore ahead of the "eye wall".
